Helena Dion Fine Art
I have worked in pastel over the past several years after discovering the purity and richness that can be created from pastel pigment. I grew up happily dabbling with paint as the daughter of an artist and was surrounded by tubes of oil paints, jars of brushes, and the pungent smell of turpentine.

I graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a B.A. in Journalism. After a rewarding career in public relations, I left to pursue two of my favorite passions, gardening and floral design. I worked for a large florist in Andover, Massachusetts for eight years before starting a family. As a stay home mom looking for creative outlets, I signed up for an art class taught by a friend who introduced me to the love of painting again. I now have a studio out of my home in West Newbury, Massachusetts.

As a native of Maine, I get my inspiration from the rocky shores, evergrcen trees and the open fields that I spent exploring as a child. I enjoy painting landscapes, gardens and flowers, as well as animals and pets.

Exhibitions include the Ncwburyport Art Association, GAR Memorial Library, Carry Out Cafe, Union Crossing. and a group show for the AID Association at Anna Jacques Hospital. I am a member of the Ncwburyport Art Association, the West Newbury Garden Club, and the Chairperson of the West Newbury Cultural Council.

Juried Shows: 2015, 2016 and 2017 Newburyport Art Association, Winter Shows
